Who we are
For more than a decade, Thai and Laotian food has been the most popular exotic cuisine in the world. The "Green Papaya" restaurant takes great pleasure in serving authentic Thai and Laotian delicacies from all regions of Thailand and Laos. Our menu offers a variety of appetizers, salads, soup, seafood, curry, noodles, rice, meat and vegetable dishes, which are sure to please the palate. The Green Papaya is proud to serve fresh, flavorful, and healthy Thai and Laotian cuisine in the Montgomery area.
Where we come from
Thai's from the Northeast section of Thailand, Issan (or Esan), consider themselves Lao, and historically this part of Thailand and Laos have very close connections reflected in the music, dress and of course the food. Blending her culinary instincts with recipes from the streets of Laos, Owner and Executive Chef Soutthiphayphone Thinavongsa has created a menu to offer the finest authentic Lao and Thai dishes outside the far east.
Our expertise
The Green Papaya offers over 75 dishes, many with a choice of meat or a vegetarian option and various levels of spice to meet the various tastes of the American palate while maintaining authenticity. We use only the freshest ingredients and high quality vegetable oil.
Service is always efficient with the smiles and hospitality Thailand is known for and the experience is surprisingly inexpensive.
As a family-owned and operated restaurant, this is not buffet style Chinese. All dishes are made to order and served "piping hot".
